Quality care? That’s our mission!
Sächsische Ärzteversorgung is an institution of the Saxon State Medical Association, a public-law corporation. Since 1992, it has provided its physician and veterinarian members with reliable retirement, disability, and survivor benefits.
In Germany, members of the “regulated liberal professions”—such as architects, pharmacists, physicians, and veterinarians (m/f/d)—are not subject to mandatory coverage under the statutory pension insurance system. Retirement benefits are provided here by professional pension funds such as the SÄV. These funds are financed without government subsidies and are administered by the members of the profession themselves.
Our History: Back to Our Roots
In April 1991, the delegates of the 1st Saxon Medical Assembly resolved to establish a separate Saxon pension fund. On November 2, 1991, the General Assembly of the Saxon State Medical Association approved the addition of ten veterinarians, thereby formalizing the merger with the Saxon State Veterinary Association. As a legal framework, the now-expanded General Assembly adopted the bylaws of the Saxon Medical Pension Fund.
Following the political transition, Saxon veterinarians were given the opportunity to take control of their own retirement security and, with the establishment of the pension fund, successfully continued a long tradition of professional pension provision.
