Reporting Requirements for Pension Recipients

We’ll show you how to easily meet your reporting requirements - and automatic reconciliation plays a key role for benefit recipients.

Proof of Identity & Proof of Residence

In the interest of all members of the Saxon Medical Pension Fund, it is necessary to regularly verify eligibility for benefits. To this end, the Saxon Medical Pension Fund has been participating in the death data reconciliation process with the German Postal Pension Service since January 1, 2023. Through this reconciliation, death notifications for pension recipients residing in Germany are transmitted to us electronically. This supports our work and reduces overpayments of retirement benefits to members who have already passed away. This allows us to receive the necessary notifications in a timely manner. However, pension recipients and recipients of widower’s or widow’s benefits living abroad are required to submit proof of status on a regular basis:

Regular submission of documentation

Recipients of a widow's or widower's pension from the SÄV are required to submit proof of identity and a certificate of current status, including proof of marital status, every two years.

Beneficiaries who do not have their permanent residence in Germany are required to submit a certificate of identity or proof of life every two years, which must be certified by the relevant consulate.
